My Teaching Experience
Andrew's fascination with teaching started from a young age. An experiment teaching cello to a young family friend turned into a lifetime pursuit. Since 2000, Andrew has been teaching in his community. As a high school student, he taught those in the elementary school and the junior high school where he attended.
While pursuing a Bachelors in Music with an emphasis in Cello Performance at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, Andrew picked up where he left off from his high school days. He started up a cello studio in the area, now expanding his teaching to all ages. While maintaining his private studio, he also taught private cello lessons as a Teaching Assistant through the School of Music at Brigham Young University under the direction of Julie Bevan, Associate Professor of Violoncello at BYU.
Andrew has always loved teaching the cello and has seen it as a delight as well as a responsibility. He strongly believes in having fun while playing the cello and exploring the vast repertoire, while also setting realistic goals to achieve all of your musical desires. He feels that he is not only a cello instructor, but also an ambassador of the cello. He is ready to help you begin or continue on your cello journey.
